Antoinette Spadafora

Spadafora, Antoinette M. “Toni” Age 85. Former resident of Fairfield passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 in Mercy Franciscan Schroder. She was born March 25, 1924 the daughter of Dan and Nunziata (Procaccino) Lo Buono. She received her education at St. Joseph Elementary and was a 1942 graduate of Hamilton High School. Toni was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was one of the founding members of the Italian American Society Auxiliary. On November 26, 1947 she married Anthony C. Spadafora and they enjoyed 58 years together. Antoinette was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family and many friends. She is survived by son Bill (Sandy) Spadafora, daughter Linda (Jim) Mertens, brother Anthony (Lillian) Lo Buono, sister in law Marian (Ed) Venturini, 5 grandchildren: Cheryl (Brian) Hershner, Gina (Ryan) Stitzel, Daniel Mertens, Joseph (Heather) Spadafora and Katherine (Matt) Kincaid and a First Great Granddaughter Sophia Grace Stitzel expected soon. She is preceded in death by her husband in 2006, parents, son Thomas, sisters Lucy Biondo & Alvera Roberto, and a brother Joseph Lo Buono. Family and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 400Nilles Rd, Fairfield. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 5 to 7 PM at Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd St., Hamilton. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the 4th floor at Schroder for the loving care given to their mother.
