Arthur Taggart

TAGGART, Arthur L. , age 86, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was the son of Gordon and Mildred (Sweeney) Taggart. Cpl. Taggart, U S Army Air Corps served his country with honor during WW II and received the following decorations and citations: Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with 6 Bronze Stars; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star; Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal WW II. On March 11, 1947 he was united in marriage to Evelyn A. Horung. Art was a member of the Senior Citizens and the American Legion. He was employed by Drackett Produce as an over the road truck driver. Survivors include his son Dave (Elaine) Taggart; grandchildren David and Jeanie Taggart; two sisters, Florence McCarty and LaVerne Willis; four brothers, Melvin (Aretta), Gordon, Frank and Tim (Jeanie) Taggart; many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn A. Taggart; daughter, Darlene Taggart and brother, Robert Taggart.The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Hospice of Hamilton. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 AM Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton with Elder Lynne Wells, Pastor of the Bond Hill Presbyterian Church officiating.
