Lakes, Bettie J., age 80 of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Berea, Kentucky, on January 14, 1930, the daughter of Harry S. and Hazel B. (Maupin) Woodall. Bettie was educated in the Hamilton City Schools. On March 10, 1956, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, she was united in marriage to Robert Lakes. Bettie was a member of the VFW Post # 1069 Auxillary and the Elks BPOE # 93. Before her retirement, Bettie was manager of the Elks Town Room for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Survived by her son, Tim and wife, Michael Lakes; two grandsons, Robert and Ryan Lakes; brother, Don Woodall; sister, Peggy Mederios; brother, Harold Craycraft; special niece, Melody Kleintank; special nephews, Greg, Clint and Brad Woodall; nieces, nephews and many friends.Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob on May 12, 1978; a baby daughter, Carol Gwenn Lakes and niece, Patty Craycraft. A special thank you to her nephew, Dr. Brad Woodall; caregiver, Josephine Jackson,; Dr. William Krall and to the staff at Hospice of Hamilton. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton. Entombment in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday 5-7 PM at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati (Hamilton Unit), C/O Bethesda Foundation, Inc., PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, Ohio 45263-3597.
