Betty Lou Wilson nee Adams passed away on [date] at the age of 84 surrounded by the love of her family, near and far. Betty was born on March 30, 1941 in Brodhead, KY to mother, Ruby Carter and father, Hubert Adams and big sister, Roberta. She spent her early childhood on farms with her family and many animals. She loved animals from an early age, and many different creatures would be her loving companions throughout her life. Her tender heart could never let an animal suffer or go without an extra meal.
Betty moved many times in her early life (30 times before she turned 30) and finally settled in Hamilton, OH. She lived and loved the same house on Noble Ave for nearly 55 years of her adult life.
Betty was never without hobbies and community, from parade float contests to the Red Hatters Society, to creative writing classes, endless costume parties and many more. She never missed a chance to try out a new creative adventure.
Betty was hard-working and held many different jobs throughout her life, her last and longest being the Food Service Supervisor at the Kroger offices in Fairfield. She retired after 30 years at Kroger, 19 years at Cassano’s Pizza and 10+ years at Frisch’s. After “retiring” she cleaned houses for shut-ins and elderly (most of whom were younger than her). Her leadership, work ethic and joy never failed to brighten every place she worked.
Family and friends meant the world to Betty, and she filled her days with as much time with loved ones that she could. She came to every sports event, concert, graduation, birthday party, and celebration that she possibly could for all those she loved.
She never failed to keep dreaming, to keep trying new things and to keep loving her life- however, it looked at any given time. She is deeply loved, and the light of her love will be dearly missed. There will never be anything quite as loving as a Betty Wilson smile. In her honor, always check the weather where your loved ones live and remind them to wear a jacket if it's under 60 degrees.
Betty is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ruby Carter and Hubert Adams; her step-mother, Mae; her dearest friend and sister, Roberta Taylor; and her loving daughter, Deborah Lynn Wilson.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Donna Cox, and son, David Wilson, who faithfully cared for her in these last challenging few years of her life; her daughter-in-law, Debbie R Wilson and son-in law, Randy Cox; grandsons, Sam Miller and Johnny Miller, and Johnny's wife, Andrea Miller; granddaughter, Katie, and her husband, Collin; great-grandchildren Lincoln, Waylon, Lillie, Owen, Morgan and Alexus, and Alexus' husband, Alex; and great-great-grandchildren, Adriana and Augustine.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 17, at 12:00 PM, at Butler County Memorial Park. Following the services at the cemetery will be a celebration of life held at 2:00 PM, at the Michael J. Colligan Lodge, 20 New London Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
