Cletus Jacobs

Cletus A. Jacobs, 86, of Hamilton, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2012 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital.He was born, in Hamilton, on June 8, 1925, the son of George J. and Lillian (Belle) Jacobs. Cletus was employed at Hooven’s Owens Rentschler Corp. before entering the Civilian Conservation Corps at age 17. He then entered the National Guard in 1947. He served His country with honor, in the U S Army from 1950 – 1952 during the Korean War, he then entered the Army Reserve and served til 1957. Cletus was a valued employee of Mercy Hospital for 33 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 530. He is survived by his sister, Sister Mary Louise S.P.F.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, George, Ralph, Robert and Omer Jacobs. Prayers will be 10:15 AM Wednesday at the Colligan Funeral Home followed by Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery.
