Earnest Dwight Compton, Jr.

Earnest "Earnie" Dwight Compton Jr., of Hamilton, passed away on October 30, 2023 at the age of 90. at Woodlands Nursing Home. He was born in Hamilton Ohio on July 31, 1933 to Earnest D. Sr. and Magdaline A. (Flynn) Compton. He married Lois (Stone) and was blessed with three daughters: Margaret, Kathy and Amy. Earnie was a Vending Machine Repairman for the Canteen Company for many years. He was also co-owener of McHobbies in Lindenwald. His true love, besides his family, was trains... he enjoyed attending train shows and was a founding member of the Cincinnati Northern Club and a member of the National Model Railroad Association. Earnie was preceded in death by his wives: Lois (Stone) Compton and Karen (Davidson) Compton; parents: Earnest Sr. & Magdaline Compton; sister: Barbara (Jim) Davis; and sister-in-law: Terry Davidson. Survivors include his daughters: Margaret (Bob) Keltner, Kathy (Wayne) Stitzel, Amy (Scott) Mellen; grandchildren: Krissy Northguard, Hazel (K) Qutaish, Curtis (Carrie) Cornett, Amberly (Brandon) Lutsch, April (Craig) Farrell, and Heather (Ronnie O'Brien) Freund; cherished great grandchildren: Matthew Northguard, Issac Parson, Ashland Webber, Jayden, Jerricho, & Jewel Stewart, Lauren Cornett, Joseph Lutsch, Patrick, Carter, Iris,Virgil, Craig Michael & Noah Farrell, Maggie & Mason O'Brien. Also survived by his brother: Joe (Judy) Compton, and all of his wonderful caregivers from the Woodlands Nursing Home and Day City Hospice that were like his extended family. Visitation will be held at St. Peter and Chains Catholic Church on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 10 am until the time of the mass at 11 am. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter and Chains Catholic Church, or Day City Hospice, 7601 Paragon Rd Ste 203, Dayton, OH 45459.
