Elaine M. Woodrow, age 79 of Forest Park, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 6:44 AM in the Vitas Inpatient Unit at Drake Center. Elaine was born in Toledo, OH on September 11, 1936, the daughter of Mabel (Grubb) and Basil Roach. Elaine graduated from Whitmer High School in 1954 and then attended college at Elkhart University in Indiana. In 1958, she married her high school sweetheart, Bob Woodrow and started their family. She was a stay at home mom, raising her three children. In 1973, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and though the disease progressively took her ability to do many physical things over the years, she bravely fought through each obstacle this disease threw at her while keeping her sense of humor.

Both her parents, Mabel and Basil Roach and her son, Robert W. Woodrow preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Knopp of Columbus, OH daughters, Sandy Woodrow Wyrick (Wade Pratt) of Cincinnati, OH and Sheryl Woodrow Landrio of Alamonte Springs FL, as well as longtime caregiver and honorary family member, Alola Harris. Six grandchildren, Robert Landrio, Jason Wyrick, Jamie (Mysty Noe) Wyrick, Julie Wyrick Hampton (Jeff), Chris (Amanda) Johnson, April (Mike) Moore, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Elaine’s name to either Vitas Healthcare of Cincinnati, 11500 Northlake Dr. Suite 400, Cincinnati, OH 45249 or Multiple Sclerosis Society SW, 4440 Lake Forest Dr. Suite 120, Cincinnati, OH 45242.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S 3rd St., Hamilton, OH 45011 from 10:00 AM to time of service at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Ottawa Hills Cemetery, Toledo, OH at the convience of the family.
