Hamilton

Janice "Jan" Jordan, beloved matriarch and cherished friend, was born on June 24, 1953, in Hamilton, Ohio. She departed this world on November 27, 2025, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were privileged to know her. Jan's journey through life was characterized by deep compassion, unwavering love, and a dedication to family that resonated with all who crossed her path.

For many years, Jan dedicated herself to her career as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) at Greenwood Nursing Home and Woodridge Nursing Home. It was at Greenwood where that she met the love of her life, Dean Calloway. Together, they began a life filled with love and shared experiences. As a devoted partner for over 35 years, Jan cherished their time together, building a foundation of companionship that would last a lifetime.

Jan was more than just a caregiver in her profession; she extended that same nurturing spirit to her family. She found immense joy in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow into remarkable young men and women, each carving out their unique paths in life. The memories she shared with them—whether it was celebrating milestones or simply enjoying quiet moments—will forever remain etched in their hearts.

Her laughter and joyful presence lit up any room, especially during family gatherings. Jan had a special fondness for her visits to Mindy’s Farmers Collective, where she relished the vibrant community and the simple pleasures of life.

Jan was surrounded by a loving family, including long-time companion Dean Calloway; her daughter Becky (Brian) Dawson; grandchildren Ashley (Zach) Schwarm, Justin Southerland, Derek (Taylor) Jordan, Christian (Miah) Dawson, Corey Dawson, Brooklin (Bobby) Hensley, Tavin Lee, and Jason Wyatt; and great-grandchildren Brently and Zach Schwarm, Penelope, Charlie, and Emelia "Emmi" Jordan, Gage Ullmer-Dawson, Luna Dawson, and Aubree and Madison Hensley; siblings Steve Francis, Bill (Alice) Francis, and Carol (Andy) Andrews along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her cherished family, Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen (nee Laney) Francis; her daughters Angie (Harry) Hatten and Rhonda Jordan; grandson Bradley Hatten; sister Nancy Hurd; and brother Jack Francis. These loved ones who have departed carry along the precious memories and legacy she has woven throughout her life.
