Joan L., age 85, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Born April 13, 1925 to Arnold and Elizabeth (Hellebush) Holbrock. She graduated from Notre Dame High School and graduated from St. Louis University. Joan was a Medical Record Librarian and then married the love of her life John E. Dorn on May 24, 1952. Her first devotion was to her family. She was gracious and kind with a warmth of heart which won her many friends. She enjoyed being with her grand children, gardening, feeding the birds and tending to the sick. Joan was a long time member of St. Charles Church in Kettering, OH and she volunteered for over 20 years with Meals on Wheels and teaching CCD. She was a true blessing from God. She is survived by a faithful sister Marilyn Holbrock; 5 loving children: Mary(Scott) Price, Joseph (Charity) Dorn, Louise (Michael) Hicks, Lori Dorn, Michael (Patricia) Dorn; 7 adoring Grandchildren: Rachel, Lauren and Jackie Hicks, Elizabeth and Emma Price, and Andrew and Lindsey Dorn; and many dear friends and extended family. Preceeded in death by parents, husband, and a son John Dorn Jr.. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Mercy Franciscan at Schroder Chapel, 1302 Millville Hamilton, OH. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 8 PM at Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton, OH. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
