Lawrence Carito

September 3, 1943 — August 19, 2019

Lawrence Anthony “Tony”, age 75, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 in Hamilton, OH. Tony was born to Lawrence D. and Mary I. (Cappa) Carito on September 3, 1943 in Hamilton, OH, one of three children. His siblings are Joseph S. Carito and Sandra (Shaw) Murphy. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1961. After two years of college, Tony became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 648 in Hamilton, OH from which he retired in 1999. On December 21, 1968, he married Constance “Connie” L. Hall and in 1974, they had one child, Amy C. Carito.
Tony had a big heart and so many friends because of it. Always quick with a smile, a hand, and a kind word, he never knew a stranger and was the first to help anyone in need. He was also an active member in his MG Car Club and the IBEW Retirement Group. But most of all, he loved being outside, cutting grass, working in the yard, sitting on the porch, and enjoying the good life with Connie. Tony is survived by his wife, Connie, daughter Amy, brother Joe and his wife Dee (Allen), sister, Sandy, nephews Will Taylor and Joey Carito and a loving grandcat Milton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence (1992) and Mary (2000).
Visitation will be at Queen of Peace Church – 2550 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013 from 10-11:30 am on Friday, August 23rd, followed by mass. A procession will then go to St. Mary’s Cemetery – 4030 Pleasant Ave. (US127) Hamilton, Ohio for IBEW service at the gravesite and burial. A lunch and gathering to share good memories will follow back at Queen of Peace Church and all are welcome.
The family would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Paula Weisenberger and everyone in her office for the exceptional love, care and support they provided to Tony since 2013, as well as the entire team at Hospice of Hamilton who ensured that in his final weeks, he would experience a compassionate, peaceful, and dignified transition.
