BLOUNT, Marcella “Marcy” 85, departed this life Sunday, June 21, 2009. Born November 10, 1923 in New Miami to John and Pauline (Bakie) Ondrovich. She attended New Miami Grade School and graduated from Seven Mile High School in 1942. In 1950 she married Harold Blount who proceded her in death in 1978. She served her country with honor in the Women’s Army Corps during WW II and was stationed in Iowa. Her long working life began at the local phone company then Colonial Food Stores (Albers), Avon Products, Van Leunans and up until January 2009 at the Hamilton Meijers. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Among her favorite activities – Bingo was it. An active bowler until a wrist injury sidelined her in 1996. She was well known on area lanes. In 2005, she was inducted into the local Women’s Chapter of the Bowling Hall of Fame as a Bowler of Yesteryear. She leaves one son, Steve “Rugg” (Joanne ) Blount; three grandsons, Matt, Adam and Alex; two step grandchildren, Jessica and Jacob all of Hamilton ; one sister, Frances Elliott of Ft. Forth, Tx.; sister-in-law, Bessie Ondrovich of Hamilton; two brothers-in-law, David James Blount of Gainesville, Ga. and Gordon (Carolyn) Blount of West Minster, Md.: numerous nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews of which a special bond with Earl Woolums Jr. existed; many friends from Meijers and two special Bingo mates, Cheryl Grady and Joanne Meyers. She was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Ondrovich and George Ondrovich; two sisters, Lucille Sears and Anna Metcalf. Visitation will be at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Hamilton on Thursday, June 25, 2009 from 5-7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is10:00 AM Friday, June 26, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church of Fairfield, corner of Nilles and River Roads, with Rev. Larry Tharp officiating. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery. A very special thanks from Marcy and her family goes to the very caring staff of Wellington Manor of Hamilton who made an extremely rough time some what smoother.
