Marian Schmidtz

Marian A., Schmidtz 87, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Hamilton on November 11, 1926, the daughter of Albert E. and Hilda (Gardner) Tabler. Marian graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1944 and the Mercy School of Nursing in 1947. On January 10, 1948 she was united in marriage to George F. Schmidtz. She was a member of the Cadet Nursing Corps formed during WWII, belonged to NALC Auxilary, worked on many nurse class reunions, was an active member of Hamilton’s German Village Society for many years and recently, aided in the formation of flower arrangements at Hospice of Hamilton. Marian was interested and collected minature doll houses and furnishings. Among her many travels, she especially enjoyed Italy and the Vatican. Marian leaves her children, Daniel G. (Karen Senger) Schmidtz and Kevin Schmidtz; grandsons, Adam (Michelle) Schmidtz, Michael (Tonya) Schmidtz and Dr. Ryan (Gina) Schmidtz; granddaughter, Amy Schmidtz (T.J.) Wardlow; great grandchildren, Erich, Haley, Logan, Austin and Abby Schmidtz and Max, Megan and Madelyn Rooney; step grandchildren, Carson and Richie Wardlow; two sisters, Ruth (Vic) Haight and Kathryn (David) Lives; one brother, Charles (Rita) Tabler ; sister-in-law, Vicki (Joe) Tabler and devoted niece, Caprice Haight. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George F. Schmidtz; son, David W. Schmidtz; two grandsons, Andrew and Aaron Schmidtz; three brothers, Albert J. Tabler, William J. Tabler and Joseph L. Tabler; sister, Patricia Tabler; sister-in-law, Marian (Winklejohn) Tabler and special friends, Anne Becker and Jay Depenbrock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Julie Billiart Church, Badin High School or Hospice of Hamilton.Visitation will be Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at St. Julie Billiart Church, Hamilton from 9:00 AM til time of services at 10:00 AM. Burial in St. Stephen Cemetery.
