Marilyn Holbrock

Marilyn J.Holbrock, age 89, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Born September 18, 1923 to Arnold and Elizabeth (Hellebush) Holbrock. She graduated from Notre Dame High School, Xavier University and University of Cincinnati. Marilyn was a dedicated History and Government teacher for 41 years at Seton High School. After retirement, she taught adult literacy and current events classes and enjoyed her Schroder neighbors. She enjoyed her family, talking on the phone, reading and her cats. She leaves behind 3 nieces, Mary (Scott) Price, Louise (Michael) Hicks and Lori Dorn; 2 nephews, Joseph Dorn and Michael (Patricia) Dorn; 6 great nieces, Rachel, Lauren and Jackie Hicks, Elizabeth and Emma Price and Lindsey Dorn and 1 great nephew, Andrew Dorn. Preceded in death by parents, sister and brother-in-law, Joan and John Dorn and nephew, John Dorn Jr.. A devoted Catholic, she was patient, caring and understanding toward all and will be missed dearly by family and friends. She will be remembered for her sharp mind and strong determination. Visitation will be held Monday, May 20 at 9:30 am at Mercy Franciscan at Schroder Chapel, 1302 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
