ROOK, Mary Louise, 83 , of Hamilton , passed away Sunday, August 31,2008. She was born in Hamilton, on September 30, 1924, the daughter of Louis and Marie ( Woodrey) Sprandel.After graduating from Notre Dame High School and the Hamilton Business College, Mary Lou began her career with the Hamilton Municipal Court in 1942. In 1945 she was united in marriage to Charles A. Rook in St. Mary Church of Hamilton. She and Charlie travelled extensively.Mary Lou had a special devotion to the Virgin Mary. She was a dedicated volunteer for St. Peter Church, Schroder Manor, St. Raphel’s and had driven for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the K of C Auxillary, the Elks Auxillary, the Sterling Silvers, was an animal lover all of her life and was one of the top women’s bowlers in Hamilton. Survivors include her children; Charlene (Jim) Hall, Steven (Diane) Rook and Christine (Dan) Bruewer; grandchildren, Kevin McGinnis, Kathy Knodel, Jason Bruewer, Carey Fletcher, Nathan Bruewer, Kelly McGinnis, Jeff Rook, Mary Ann Cisneros and Megan Bruewer; eight and one on the way great grandchildren; life long friend, Dorie Ensor and her beloved dog, Ginger.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Charlie Rook, great grandson, Stephen McGinnis and a brother, Robert Sprandel. Memorials may be directed to Vitas Hospice, 11500 North Lake Dr., Suite 400, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249. Visitation will be at St. Peter In Chains Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:00 AM til time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
