Thomas White

December 13, 1947 — April 6, 2015

Thomas Merle, White, age 67, of Fairfield Township, passed away Monday morning, April 6, 2015 from complications of years of kidney failure, 11 years of dialysis and had been paralyzed from a broken neck suffered in a fall two years ago. A lifelong resident of Hamilton, he was born on December 13, 1947, in Hamilton, the son of the late Albert A. and Emma (Howell) White. A very talented and resourceful person, he worked many jobs including in the auto parts business, a car dealership and for many years in the heating and air business with a masters license since 1971. He was also a state licensed plumber and electrician. Many may remember Tom as an accomplished driver at local round tracks and drag strips. NASCAR racing and especially Dale Earnhart were his passions. He smoked “Mr. Smog” off the line many times. Tom was a long time member of the Eagles 407, Moose Lodge # 36 and the Monkey Mutual Aid Society. In 1965 he married Judy Pickle and to this union two daughters were born. In 1988 Tom and Donna (Phillips) Jessie were married. He is survived by his wife, Donna White; his daughters, Tammy (Danny) Davidson and Alberta (Kelly) Nuxhall; grandchildren, Ryan (Katie) Aaron, Lyndsey Davidson, Lauren (Anthony) Garrett, T.J. Lakes, Emmalee (Adam) Forch, Aeriss and Eaden Kammeron and Seth Nuxhall; great-grandchildren, Rylynn Davidson, Alexis Garrett, Bryce and Preston Davidson; step-brothers, Fred and Tom Jeffers and “Butch” Brown; brothers-in-law, Wallace and Fred Phillips and nephew, Christopher Phillips. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by Howard Fugate, the man whom he loved very much and called his other father. Special thanks to the staff at Doverwood and Heritage Springs care facilities. Visitation will be at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S 3rd Street on Thursday, April 9 from 5-8 pm. A graveside prayer will be held at noon on Friday, April 10 at Rose Hill Burial Park with Rev. Wallace A. Miller, Pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Immediately following, family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life which will be held at the American Legion Post 138, 427 S 3rd Street, until 6:00 pm with fellowship and food catered by Bruno’s thanks to Joe McCaughey.
