Wayne Russo

Wayne A.Russo, age 74, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015. Wayne was born in Hamilton, the son of Joseph J. and Thelma (King) Russo. He was a 1959 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. SP4 Russo, U S Army, served His country with honor. Wayne was an ironworker ( Local # 44), a member of the Hiawatha Sportsman’s Club and a PGA golf professional. His love of golf was inspired by his father, Joe. Wayne passed along his love of sports by coaching his sons in soccer and basketball, especially The Big Blue Cowboys. A devoted and loving family member, he leaves his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda L. (Armstrong) Russo; sons, Michael (Brecka) Russo and Jay Russo; daughter, Lisa Russo; grandchildren, Chelsae, Jacob, Anthony, Nicholas and Ben; sister, Toni Russo, brother, Joe (Linda) Russo; nieces, Kristin, Cheryl and Sandy; nephews, Bill, Joe and John; sister-in-law, Judy Danley and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Thelma Russo; brother, John Russo and in-laws, Jack and Louise Armstrong. Visitation will be Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Sacred Heart Church, Fairfield, from 10:00 AM til time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Military Services will folow.
